Starting in the 1970s, the Concorde began flying people across the globe. It was a technological marvel offering the first supersonic commercial flights which traveled twice the speed of sound (1,300 mph). While the Concorde was traveling faster than a fighter plane, inside the cabin was the most luxurious traveling experience with champagne and caviar for the rich and famous.
In that same decade, some of the most iconic watches the world had (and has) ever seen were created. Many of those iconic designs came from one man, Gerald Genta. Genta designed such classics as the Royal Oak and the Nautilus and his influence on watches remains strong to this day. Inspired by those revolutionary watch designs of the 1970s, the Goodspeed Concord is your ticket to affordable luxury. It's geometric case, clean, classic lines and integrated bracelet design gives this watch some serious Genta vibes yet it retains its own unique design language. This isn't a "dive" watch, or a "pilots" watch, or a "field" watch. It deserves it's own category: you might just call it your new "favorite" watch. |

Over the years, there have been many watches heavily influenced by Genta's designs but a lot of them are just a blatant copy of the real thing. While all watches borrow some styling from iconic watches of the past decades; a nice watch should have it's own original design, one that it makes it unique. We've worked really hard at Goodspeed to give the Concord its own unique design, inspired by the past but focused on the future." |
