Welcome to the Scout Owners page, here you'll find the specifics about the movements in your watch. The Scout comes in two versions, the only difference is the movement inside: Automatic or Quartz. Both employ a screw down crown, sapphire crystal and are rated for 200 meters of water resistance.
Sizing the bracelet
If you are not familiar with how to adjust a bracelet, please take to a watch shop they will do this for a small fee.
If you have the tools to do this, the bracelet uses push out pins. The back of the bracelet shows the direction the pins are to be pushed out. Remove the desired amount of links and micro adjust using the clasp.
Automatic
The Automatic version can be easily identified by the "Automatic" under the Scout on the dial. It is powered by a Miyota 9039 movement.
To set the time, unscrew the crown by turning counter clockwise (towards you), then pulling the crown out to position 2 its furthest position. Then push the crown back in and screw down (this prevents water from entering the watch).
If you havent worn the watch in a while and the second hand is not moving, the watch can be manually wound to get it started. Do this by unscrewing the crown and turning the crown clockwise in position 1. Do so until the second hand begins to move, then push back in and screw down and wear as usual. The movement on your wrist will keep the watch operating.

Quartz
The Quartz version can be easily identified by just the "Scout" on the bottom of the dial. It is powered by a Miyota 2035 movement.
To set the time, unscrew the crown by turning counter clockwise (towards you), then pulling the crown out to position 2 its furthest position. Then push the crown back in and screw down (this prevents water from entering the watch).
The watch batteries will last 2-4 years -- if you are unfamiliar with how to change a battery, most local watch shops will replace for $10.
